Many people talk about slowing down urban sprawl, saving our cities, helping the poor and working to better fund mass transit. Unless people take individual actions and live what they say, there is no real purpose. There are many compassionate people who drive everywhere and want to support mass transit to help others. If people are willing to pay higher transportation taxes to help others, then it only makes sense many will also use mass transit instead of driving to help. More can and will help if the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) uses mass transit as an alternative to widening freeways into downtown Detroit.

The help of many are needed to convince MDOT that mass transit can work to reduce traffic congestion and bring back inner city downtowns and suburban malls. The answer to relieve traffic congestion on I-94 and other freeways is 24/7 frequent bus services and there is no time to waste.

Imagine riding a SMART bus to Greektown for dinner and never worrying about catching the last bus or waiting a long time to get home or your car parked in a secure park and ride.
